Ok so I got the bolt issue fixed all is well. The problem I am having now is the bolt will not cycle back and lock. I adjusted the gas block and nothing happens. I did manage to get it to work one time the bolt locked back so I filled the mag and nothing it will eject the round sometimes and others it just hangs and is sticking out sideways.

Check your carrier key bolts and make sure their not loose. Check your gas block and make sure it's over the gas port correctly and not loose or misaligned. It sounds like your not getting enough gas.
Man I have checked and re checked and checked again. I fix one problem and know I can't get it to cycle. Checked gas key and alignment and everything checked out. The carrier slides back and forth like butter so it's not catching on anything. I am wondering if the H3 buffer and m16 carrier bolt is to much. 1 bullet in mag and release bolt, fire and the bolt will slide back half way and eject but will not lock back. Load another round fire and will eject and lock back, fired about 15 more single rounds and half ejected and the other half stayed in. The gas block is fully open and still nothing

Check the alignment of the gas block. Maybe the gas port is undersized.
What stock do you have? Rifle extension tube, or carbine tube? What ammunition are you using? If hand loads, details of everything please.
Also tried AA 123gr still same thing

sometimes the gas block hole and barrel ports won't match if the gas block is tight against the barrel flange. Measure and use a feeler gauge to get correct alignment.
Sounds like the H3 is too much in this case. Get an H2 or H1 and take them to the range with you next time. Is it a carbine spring?
Yes carbine spring,don't have a H1 or H2 just the stock buffer and H3, I will take the stock and see if that helps. What is the diameter of the gas hole supposed to be?????

You have to check with the mfg of the barrel.
I will call today to find how big the gas hole is supposed to be, I am suspecting it needs to be enlarged.
I am going to polish the carrier and inside of the upper receiver. How hard should it be to pull the charging handle back???? It takes crap load to pull it back, I can pull the charging handle back on my .223 with one finger. Anyways I guess sometime today I will take it all apart again.
DIESEL758: It might be just my experience but I've never had a charging handle pull back as hard as you are describing even when brand new.
Mine have always been like what you described with your .223, sometimes maybe just a little harder when new but nowhere near as hard as you're saying your Grendel is.
Are you seeing any scratch marks inside the upper receiver or metal shavings inside the upper receiver?

Sounds like an extra power recoil spring from your description if the BCG isn't dragging inside the upper.
Some companies make extra power recoil springs. Which ATI kit did you order? The Military Buffer Tube Assembly, or Commercial? Either way, the springs are the same.
