The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) doesnt just want a
huge database to reveal everything about you [and your firearms] with a
few keywords. It wants one that can find out who you know. And it wont
even try to friend you on Facebook first.

The Power to Tax...: Liberals are trying every tool at their disposal
this year to go after guns. They have failed on Capitol Hill to restrict
the Second Amendment, so they are moving through the states to enact
their agenda. The latest maneuver is to hike the tax on guns and
ammunition to dissuade the law-abiding from buying firearms. Its the
perfect storm of liberalism more revenue for a bigger government and
fewer people keeping and bearing arms. President Obamas hometown of
Chicago started the movement late last year by enacting a $25 tax on new
firearm purchases, which went into effect on April 1. Cook County
stopped just short of adding a levy on ammunition...

Mark and Gabby to Hit the Road: Former Rep. Gabby Giffords couldnt get
Washington to heed her call for tighter background checks on gun buyers,
so shes taking her case directly to the states of several senators to
pressure them to switch their votes. Giffords, who hasnt ruled out
taking target practice on the tour, announced Tuesday morning that she
and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, will be taking new polling
data to Nevada, Alaska, North Dakota, North Carolina, Ohio, Maine and
New Hampshire to illustrate their argument that lawmakers who support
2nd Amendment gun rights will prosper not suffer if they vote for
stricter background-check measures, too... (As I have said before,
lies, damned lies and polls.)

The Other Bus Tour: The "No More Names: National Drive to Reduce Gun
Violence" rally in Atlanta today was more heavily attended by
counter-ralliers from GeorgiaCarry.org by a margin of approximately two
to one than by MAIG supporters. The rally was held at the State Capitol.
The media covering the event also seemed to outnumber the Mayors Against
Illegal Guns attendees. The GeorgiaCarry members were evident by their
orange "Guns Save Lives" buttons. The Executive Director of
GeorgiaCarry, Jerry Henry was present. The event began with a reading of
alleged murder victims killed by guns. However, one counter protestor
carried a sign indicating that the list may not be all murder victims
but is also heavily populated with justifiable homicides and suicides. A
counter-rallier carried a sign pointing out that the Boston Marathon
bomber shot and killed by police is one of the names on the list...

MAIG Loses Another Member: If New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and
his national group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, want to pick a fight
with U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau wants no part
of it. Lozeau, a Republican, was a member of the mayors group but said
she removed her name from the group of more than 900 mayors in early May
when she learned of ads targeting Ayotte, also a Republican. Lozeau,
when reached for comment by The Telegraph, requested to only respond to
questions in a written statement... (Nashua is the second largest city
in the state.)
