The different alphabet may explain how the caliber of "Grendel," which has the advantage of being less recoil, while the hose is not wound but connects with trucks using leverage.

And how it will "scramble arimije around the world."

Nah, it's just a crappy translation that resulted from the limitations of Google Translate.

I will hazard a guess that, if correctly translated, "the hose is not wound but connects with trucks using leverage" would read something like "the barrel is not threaded but is fastened to the receiver by a lever."

Also, in the second quote, "arimije" is an obvious typo in the original article, which should have been spelled "armije" ("armies" in English). I think what the author was trying to say is the 6.5 Grendel rifle will "shake up armies around the world." Basically, he was expressing the same idea that John did three days ago with the following post:

Small militaries with this capability will cause the round's popularity to explode due to jealousy. "Why can't we hit that hard at those ranges with our small arms? Who do these guys think they are?"

US ordnance brass and politicos will just call for another long-winded "study," go on some junkets, waste tens of millions of tax payer dollars, rig some tests, cook the results and then turn around and declare the current 5.56 M4 the greatest battle implement ever devised (with a straight face).

They are indeed accomplished liars.

Drain the swamp!

Would love to see a semi-auto Zastava AK in 6.5G join the Vepr on these shores, along with multitudes of military-grade, hi-cap 6.5G magazines...of course, if CZ would offer the Bren 805-6 in 6.5G, that would be even mo' bettah!

I was really interested in the Bren 805 until I held it. The pistol version is heavier than a lot of my AR15s.

It's like a heavy SCAR in 5.56 NATO.

Does half a pound really make that much difference? The average AR carbine is @ 8 lbs. and the Bren carbine is only 8.43 lbs. I usually have a milled AK for SHTF so that doesn't sound so bad. I wouldn't get a Bren in 5.56 anyway. They have a 7.62x39 version coming out, which is tempting, but 6.5G would be better.

Better stock up on Wheaties!!! LOL
