Bullet entered behind the last rib and raked down into the chest cavity. He was momentarily paralyzed, but got onto his feet and staggered, trying to run, for approx. 15 yards before collapasing.
The 123 SST did not exit. Chest-girth tape measured 325lbs.
Was this factory or your own roll, if your what was your reload powder, amount and length of barrel as it sure as hell worked , just interested in the details , great job

Factory Hornady 123 SST. Barrel is 18", can is Silencerco Omega (approx. 7").

We've killed nearly 300 hogs in the last few years. Only 2 have been in the 300lb+ class. Our average boar is 200lbs.

I have a couple folks I associate with in different areas of Brevard county who own property and allow me to hunt hogs.Micco,FL and North Cocoa,FL.I have heard of hogs captured and hunted here in Brevard in excess of 450lbs. But largest of what I have ever seen in the woods personally is around 200 pounds. I try to shoot the smaller ones 90-120 pounds. I don’t go for the big boys.Smaller is easier to move,process and I prefer the smaller hogs I think the meat is better.

That IS a nice hog, sir! It's nice to hear the 123 gr SST did not exit. That tells me the bullet opened up did it's job VERY well.

I was wondering about that myself. I try to keep my pigs to a manageable packing/eating size, around 100-120lbs live weight, but I wouldn't pass on a chance to terminate a hog like that beast.
