Which Bolt 6.5 Grendel

Only thing that turns me off to the Howa are the 5 round mags and how hard it can be to get them at times. Besides that, its a nice rifle

I've had a bunch of 527s over the years. Currently have I think four. Never had one that was much of a disappointment.

I recently picked up the 527 American Suppressor-Ready in 6.5G. I'm very happy with it so far. Have the same rifle in .300 Blackout. It's also been excellent. Personally I'm a fan of the single-set triggers.

I had a Howa Grendel not long ago but sold it. Liked the trigger on that thing a lot. There were aspects of that rifle that I liked, but I wasn't getting the accuracy I wanted out of it.

Hello from Down Under. Thank you for letting me join the forum.
About to put some retirement coin down on my first 6.5 Grendel. ( I have experience with the 265 WM).
Here I have the option of the Howa Mini action or the CZ 527.
For a general purpose hunting arm which would serve my purpose best ? Stalking, spotlighting from a truck on introduced pests and game up to the size of your Whitetail.

I have had both the CZ and the Howa. Both of mine were super accurate, awesome, easy guns to load for and shoot. I recently sold the CZ. For your purpose I would suggest the Howa, with a B&C stock and upgrade the bottom metal. I have taken pigs, goats, fallow and red deer with mine. I currently own both a CZ 527 American and a Howa with 20” heavy barrel. Both are great shooters, but I would tend to use the Howa in the field a bit more. It has a nice balance to it, and shoulders quickly. The CZ is a nicer rifle in in some aspects, particularly that they do not use any polymer in the American. I prefer the metal mags of the CZ too. But the plastic on the bottom of the Howa can be easily replaced with aluminum even if you are still stuck with polymer mags. I bought the aluminum bottom metal from D.I.P. and shortened an extra mag to give a flush fit for hunting. You cannot go wrong with either rifle, but I think you would enjoy the handling of the Howa in the field best.
