A 1/2x28 flash hider should provide enough meat to be cleaned out and rethreaded to 9/16x24.
Are you using a 14.5" barrel and need the flash hider permanently attached by chance? If so, you could send them out together and have the hider rethreaded before they pin it.
ETA: I know AA makes a 9/16 hider, but I don't know if it's extended or not. The Saber ones were (I think....) on their 14.5" uppers. Heck, I forget. Maybe they were 14.7" barrels?
