Anybody got any input on the konus m30 scope?

I have no experience with Konus scopes. However, if you are using an AR-15 then you need to look at the length of the optic and if it has a long eye relief. Basically, the AR-15's are too short for conventional (long) optics so guys tend towards shorter optics in order to get the eye relief they need without contorting their body behind their rifle. This is particularly true if you have a collapsible stock.

So, guys tend towards optics designed for the AR-15 frame and ergonomics. Generally speaking, at the costs you desire, you find the same basic optic with reticule patterns made for 'tactical' and 'hunting' purposes. I would say that the tactical reticule patterns would be just fine for hunting but the hunting reticule patterns are probably not ideal for tactical applications.

You will probably be looking at a variable power to 8 or 10X.

So, do some searching and I am sure some hunters here can offer their opinions once you have settled on a couple of potential optics.
