Im looking for a scope for my new grendel im looking for something with a 30mm tube some like a 4-16 any suggestions looking for something under 300 y'all guys have any advice on a decent piece of glass thanks in advance

Since you didn't state your primary and secondary requirments, didn't state the conditions where you absolutely must depend on the optic, didn't state your preferences in terms of optics features such as parallax adjustment, reticle pattern, units of adjustment, eye relief requirements and so on, the only thing we know is the price must be under $300.00.
So, take a look at the Millet, Nikon, Weaver lines as they are in your price range. None of them have particularly good features or glass but they are just under $300.00.

George Rosenfield, former owner of TASCO once had an idea to produce a high-end scope and had the Japanese "Light Optical
Works" reverse engineer some nice European scopes. What they came up with was the Euro-Class scope, which George then had the, at the time respected, Hakko Scope Works build. It's a 30mm scope as you are interested in. They ran into a problem and discontinued it after one year. The problem arose from the fact that people had a hard time plopping down their hard-earned money for a very high quality Tasco scope, as they automatically associated Tasco scopes as low end. The company lost a lot of money on the Euro-Class scopes through the course of the year they were in production. Their loss can still be your gain, as they pop up from time to time on Ebay, usually selling between $100-$200.00. They are worth every penny if you can snag one, but bidding often gets escalated by folks who recognize them and who covet them. Still, one will slip under the radar from time to time and you can snag a good deal on one.
IMHO, the best of the Euro-Class scopes is the 3-12x52. It is a hunters dream come true, delivering great low light gathering characteristics consistent with dawn and dusk windows of opportunity. They do not usually appeal to the mall ninja folks as they don't look sexy, nor have a lighted reticule. The image through the one I have rivals my more expensive Nikon Monarch 4-16x50 and Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x50 at a fraction of the price. Going with a 30mm scope carries a slightly higher premium when buying rings, but IMHO, is worth the extra cost.
They are a very strong, heavy scope and a lot of folks report having them in service on stout recoiling calibers for many years without a problem.
Unless you're pants are on fire to get a scope ASAP, watch for one of those Euro-Class scopes on Ebay. The joy of gaining a great scope for the cost of hunting one down, makes the deal all the more sweet. Mine has a standard duplex reticule though they also can be found with a 4A reticule if you prefer them.

I have no experience with Konus scopes. However, if you are using an AR-15 then you need to look at the length of the optic and if it has a long eye relief. Basically, the AR-15's are too short for conventional (long) optics so guys tend towards shorter optics in order to get the eye relief they need without contorting their body behind their rifle. This is particularly true if you have a collapsible stock.
So, guys tend towards optics designed for the AR-15 frame and ergonomics. Generally speaking, at the costs you desire, you find the same basic optic with reticule patterns made for 'tactical' and 'hunting' purposes. I would say that the tactical reticule patterns would be just fine for hunting but the hunting reticule patterns are probably not ideal for tactical applications.
You will probably be looking at a variable power to 8 or 10X.
So, do some searching and I am sure some hunters here can offer their opinions once you have settled on a couple of potential optics.

Here you go. This just popped up on the radar. It may look old school, but I can't stress the degree of it's quality. If you can snag it for under $120 and don't like it, I'll buy it from you for what you have into it. If I don't see you bidding on it as it gets close to the end, I will bid on it. I don't want to be bidding against you and not know it. That would be defeating the purpose of getting you into a nice 30mm scope, for an affordable price. I already have one on my Browning .300 Win Mag, but I'd like to get one on my G3.

Edit: If you seriously want it as inexpensively as possible, don't start bidding on it early. That's a guarantee of driving it up, possibly beyond what you're looking to spend because of the emotional nature of auctions. A successful hunter waits for the optimum shot.

It is OK until you can afford the optic you really want.

Yes, just to be clear, it is not the same as their Euroscope. That's the Chinese made follow on to the Titan line, which was the follow on to the Euro-Class. The Euroscope is not in the same class as the other two. Seriously, the Euro-Class and Titan are built like a brick shathouse. In a pinch, they'd serve as a carry handle on a flat top, they're that strongly made. If you're the kind of person who drills out their trigger guard to reduce weight, they're probably not for you.

I put a fixed 16x42 swfa with a Burris mount on my Grendel. The mount cost $60 and has the proper eye relief for for the AR platform, don't skimp on the mount!..................The scope is built like an anvil , seems very clear to me, parallax 10yds to infinity, holds zero perfectly, and right there at your price limit............I personally feel for the money its one of the best scopes made..........Someday when I have the $$$$ the Grendel will have a 50mm Trijicon on it..............Roger

I have a Nikon Tactical 2.5-10x44 that is a great scope. (They've changed the name now to Monarch X I believe, they were less expensive when I bought mine!)
