Find out what your max COL is with that bullet, and load as long as you can in the magazine. Hopefully you can load longer than 2.260" raw COL.
Start with 29.0gr of CFE, and load a pressure ladder from 29.0gr on up to 32.0gr, starting with .3gr increments. Once you get to 31.0gr, you can step down to .2gr increments if you like. If you are able to push out to 2.275" COL, I think you can reach 2650fps easily, and probably 2700fps. I have a 2572fps load that appears to be safe from a case volume analysis, chronograph trendline analysis, and absolutely no signs of abnormal pressures on the case & primer, although those are unreliable methods for detecting pressure (too late usually). That is from a 16" barrel, pushing the 123gr A-MAX. I suspect that I am around 48,000 psi with my 2532fps load. I am at 2.275" COL with these, as I wanted to increase case volume to reduce pressure.
I have shot CFE223 with 3 different bullets. Shot 29.0 with the Lapua's and it was an .861" group. I could work with it some more but it was easy to get half or better inch groups with 8208. Mag limited to 2.250. I use QuickLOAD and it will more than likely show 32.0 grains to go over max pressure. This is a new build and I will have more time to work with it.
