Anyone tried feeding from 308 or 223 AI mags?

I built one of the first Grendel bolt guns on a Rem 700 SA back in 05'. I used the mag block out of a 223 mag, shortened and modified the 308 follower. I wish the old site was still up, there were pictures buried in there.
