Why a 6.5 Grendel in a bolt action?

I am not arguing that it CAN reach out to 1000 YARDS (not feet). But it doesn't do it near as well in other offerings like the .260 or 6.5 CM. Drop is a non issue. That is predictable, 99.99% of the time. Wind however is ever changing, so shedding wind drift is of much more concern to me when I am shooting LR (which is mainly what I shoot). It is much easier to shed wind when the bullets are moving faster (less exposure to the wind).

But whatever, it doesn't make sense to me, and it never will.
