Why a 6.5 Grendel in a bolt action?

Gents,
I too am interested in following this thread. Just recently, I came upon this:

The rifle has my vote on cheaper brass and less powder. I also believe, with the 6.5mm bullet, and its higher BC they should fly better.

I wonder if this round can be used in a Savage SA rifle? Reason being, the rim diameter is .441 on the Grendel; and .4728 dia on a .308. Does anything have to be done to the bolt face? Thanks, ED

If you retain the Savage 308 size (really x57 size, but anyhoo) you need to bush it a little and change the extractor. It will be so much simpler for you to buy a replacement bolt head from Savage, or from PTG.
