I think probably the two main powders used are CFE 223 and XBR 8208 with H335 and Accurate 2460 also being used among others. I believe one of the main reasons people use the Savage actions has been stated by most above as being consumer customizable
(hey Ma I used some more big words). I shoot a micro action but have a Stevens 200 in .223 (short action) waiting to be converted. You should pick up the 6.5 Grendel Reloading Manual offered on the board if you can, it has data all the way up to the 144 grain fmj Lapua.
