Why a 6.5 Grendel in a bolt action?

I chose the Savage for 2 reasons:

1. Ease of barrel swaps
2. Micro actions would still be limited in COAL and not tapping the full potential of Grendel in a bolt gun (at least, that is what I concluded when looking at the options).

My Savage has DBM and I'm nowhere near the magazine limits for COAL. I've loaded 129 Interbond to 2.400 COAL in testing. Not sure what the micro actions could achieve...

Not sure I would characterize my build as "heavy barreled"...LOL

Same reason why I use a Savage SA action. Barrel swaps can be done in my garage and I have room to seat the bullet out !

Being that my gun is not a carry gun but a range gun the extra ? lbs does not matter !
