To me, it makes the most sense for a lightweight hunter with a micro action and featherweight barrel.
For the target guns, you save a lot of money on brass costs, and take way less powder to shoot similar distances if you're shooting to 600yds.
Powder availability has become a significant issue for many people, and has been a factor in me shooting my Grendel more than my .260 Remington AR10.
