I don't go into the world thinking everything is a threat to me or my loved ones, so I carry when I perceive a chance exists where I may have to defend myself. Besides, carrying a 1911 around really sucks. It is heavy, hard to conceal, digs into my side, destroys clothing, and requires effort to safeguard it when dealing with places that do not allow firearms.
I take it you don't have a Concealed Carry Permit or Alabama doesn't allow for concealed carry?

I don't disagree. It seems they want to make a point. I, like you, make my point by not spending a dime at starbucks.
I imagine carrying a 1911 sucks. I like my little xds for cc. I'm not going to hit anything from a distance, but that's not why I have it.
