When I lived in the South, Concealed Carry was a must. Every instance I have had where a hoodlum dirtbag who thought they were going to target me and be successful occurred in the South, to include 3 home invasions, 2 attempted car-jackings, and one store burglary.
I would likely be seriously injured or dead if I had not maintained the protective posture that I normally do.
Here in Utah, we don't reward criminals the same way the South does, and the demographics are strikingly different. (Every failed crime attempt against me in the South was perpetrated by one particular demographic, sans one incident.)
Every State in the Union now has some type of provisions to allow concealed carry, as Illinois was the last holdout, but recently passed legislation for it, much to the chagrin of the corrupt organized crime syndicate that has occupied Chicago City Council and Cook County since the 1800's.
