Most States have laws that elaborate on the 2A, meaning they limit it to some extent. Texas is pretty bad from my perspective, and most of the county and municipal LE in Texas have a pretty long track-record of blatant corruption, which is even applauded by many Texans that I know, as long as you are of a certain genotype. Texas was one of the meccas of voting laws designed to keep Negroes from voting, particularly within the Democrat party.
I also am fundamentally opposed to concealed carry licensing, because I have to register myself as a gun-owner with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations in order to gain permission to exercise a fundamental right that was largely unregulated until the "Progressive" wave of assaults on the Bill of Rights. A criminal goes through no such process when choosing to conceal carry, which means a law-abiding citizen is placed in an unreasonable and lower legal, physical, and social position in relation to recidivist dirtbags who go through the revolving door of the system.
I think CCW laws are only palatable to legislators and statists because of the revenue generated by the licensing process, and they subconsciously know that the majority of sheep asking for permission to protect themselves are so docile anyway, they pose little threat to anybody. Just to purchase a pistol in NC, you have to get permission from the County Sheriff, who after several days will issue only a certain amount of permits. Some counties limit how many permits you can obtain in a calendar year.
At the end of the day, anyone should be able to practice the same carry or purchase habits that the least in society are capable of-namely criminals, otherwise you create a place where criminals are morally, legally, and most importantly-physically superior to the citizenry.
Here in Utah, we have some of the most relaxed firearms laws in the Nation, but we still have CFP permitting, and it specifically limits the type of firearm to be carried in your vehicle to the anemic handgun, no rifles, carbine, or shotguns, while the marxists black militant in D.C. like Eric Holder equip narco-traffickers with real military weaponry. If that seems like a stretch, talk to any family of an LEO who was gunned-down by narco-traffickers, like the female officer who was shot in the neck just above her vest out here not too long ago.
I was especially disappointed when our Governor vetoed a bill that the State legislature passed making concealed carry a right without needing to apply for a permit.
