That observation might also explain the rabid drive for gun control in some quarters. We are willing to bow to an honest election with votes cast by caring and educated voters, but less willing to accept dishonest counting of votes cast by uncaring emotionally-driven voters. There may be some concern that the majority might take severe umbrage should the latter be proven as what happened.

Used to be we had the option of moving to "greener pastures" but now those options are a bit constrained.
