I do know what life was like under the CCCP. I have a number of friends from Eastern Europe. The very same Eastern Europe (Hungary and Romania) the West cheerfully handed over to the Soviets. How nice. My friends had the choice of immigrating to the US or Switzerland through a Church program. They are sorry they didn't choose Switzerland.
Back to the topic, I know I've said this before, Dubbya and Company built a nice turn key police state to hand over to the Demonrats. The State never gives up power once it has it. Can anybody cite an example of the FedGov doing such? I will never waste my time voting Republican again after their treatment of Ron Paul. The Trotskyite-neocon warmonger bankster puppets can have it. The best thing that could happen to us tax cattle would be the Union breaking up and the states going their separate ways.
Anarchy means that we have rule by the strongest. Get 40 friends together, arm them and you rule the neighborhood. A true democracy is a lynch mob, everyone gets a vote including the guy who was hung.
Frankly most of the fascism (communism in Russia and China became fascist with private, ie cronies, ownership) is what is left of collectivism. And Progressivism (regressivism) is pure fascism mixed in with a lot of neo-paganism. Both collectivism and Progressivism came out of the early 1800s. They are a product of the Industrial Age. They are dying, most likely to be replaced by Islam as the dominate ideology in the world.
But then most of the Industrial Age institutions are dying. Just look at the Protestant Church, both mainstream and fundamentalist. They are dying, losing their kids. The Catholic churches (that includes Eastern Orthodox) are surviving but not growing. What is growing is Evangelicals (they are not protestant) and Islam.
And with technology, the mechanical age was perfected in the 1960s. Then immediately replaced by the silicon technology with the advent of Integrated Circuits (IC) in the 1970s. Now most controls is silicon based, not mechanically based. The last vestige of the mechanical technology is firearms. Once we perfect the gun, with GEN III battle rifles and a General Purpose Cartridge (GPC), watch for firearms to be replaced as well.
