Here is the response I received from Senator Andersen. I am urging all of the CA Horde members to write their representatives NOW.
Dear Friends,
As Vice-chair of the Senate Public Safety Committee, I appreciate you contacting me regarding gun rights issues in the past and wanted to inform you of an anti-gun rights bill, SB 396, that was approved in the State Senate on Wednesday and now heads to the State Assembly.
I opposed this bill on the Senate floor and made it clear during my floor speech that it will limit the ability of law-abiding citizens to effectively defend themselves while doing nothing to combat violent crime. You can watch that video here. In my district, many California families live in rural areas where police response times are longer. Many residents are unable to afford the high walls and private security that others enjoy. Legal access to a firearm is sometimes the only option a single mother has to protect her children from intruders. While SB 396 cleared the floor Wednesday, the fight to protect the Second-Amendment rights of law-abiding Californians must continue.
