Remember that history, like the trials at Nuremberg, is written by the victors. That's why we must find ways to communicate to the larger majority in ways that can be understood.
Blind contributions to a particular party or organization may not be as effective as we'd like either. We need to make sure that contributions go to places that can make the kinds of differences we need to see.
Recent national politics showed me that fringe parties, like the Tea Party, can serve to better anchor larger parties than one might have otherwise expected. I am still not sure why that happened when the Libertarian party has been around longer and could not have the outsize influence the Tea Party folks seem to have wielded.
