This is a time where the citizenry needs to solidify the relationship with Law Enforcement Officers, against the enemies within government who have a different idea of how America should be governed. Most LE understand that they have families, will retire or find other work in the near future, and they will be citizens with inalienable rights like everyone else.
The line needs to be drawn between upholding their oaths of office to the People and the Constitution. They didn't take an oath to enforce the overlordship of Fuhrer Cuomo or some other dictator-in-the making. We're at the point when the frog has realized he's about boiled, and is trying to jump out of the pot. They turned on the burner back in the 1800's to ban firearms ownership from freed slaves, then cranked up the heat in 1934 to sear the frog's skin (infringing on our right to keep and bear the most important arms available at the time: machineguns, anti-tank weapons, mortars, SBR's, etc.), then put in-place a Federal system to license and monitor all firearms dealers in 1968.
At the State level, the organized crime families who have run New York and Chicago since the late 1890's started to see new competition coming in from Sicily, muscling into the Italian immigrant neighborhoods, so the criminal city councils and police chiefs passed laws banning the ownership of stiletto's, pocket pistols, blackjack clubs, and the preferred weapons of organized crime and personal defense at the time, then issued permits to their enforcers (cops doing "security" racketeering on weekends or off duty hours) to carry pistols. This is the sordid history of illegal and unconstitutional firearms laws in NYC and Chicago.
