Good news in the gun debate

They already had a school security plan with Federal money in-place under the last administration and Congresses, but this WH and Congress cut the funding for it, while spiking the Foreign Military Sales to Mexico, and funneling thousands of weapons to straw-buyers (many of whom were CI's for the FBI/DOJ) so they could sell those weapons to the Cartels.

Never assume that politicians want less crime. History shows that politicians love crime, and our Congressmen come from professions where they have a lot of experience in court (43% of both houses admit that they are lawyers, while at least another 33% have law degrees, but list another profession as their primary, mostly real estate and doctors). Having more crime puts you into a position of being looked upon for solutions, rather than questioning your worth. They've seen this game over and over, and they successfully competed with other candidates for high office and won.

They know that no amount of laws are going to ever stop criminal opportunists from targeting schools, and why would they want to risk being associated with a plan that actually might work? The moment someone successfully pulls off a school shooting where their police guard program is, and their name gets associated with supporting it, they're on the defensive.

Crimes pays big-time for politicians. Why do you think they passed legislation exempting them from insider-trading, while they crack-down on Martha Stewart and throw her in prison as an example? Think of every dirty District Attorney, Judge, Partner at a large Law Firm, retired "war hero" (Duke Cunningham...John Kerry), rip-off artist who made millions on scams (Darryl Issa), or rich boy who's grandaddy boot-legged during prohibition (Ted Kennedy). These guys have been getting away with bribery, larceny, racketeering, and murder-literally, for decades.



Take the worst we have to offer from all the counties across the US, and pack 'em in the Capitol Building, and you start to see the real picture. They were like this even in the 1800's. By the Prohibition era, the hypocrisy was so rampant, they had their liquor distributors pull up to the front of the Capitol building during legislative sessions, and carry suitcases of booze in to keep their mouths wet as they continued the "enforcement" of the 18th Amendment, and they were never vetted since it was repealed. Empires were built in that era, the Kennedy's being the most prominent.



One of the jobs I had in D.C. was closely tied to military aides for Congressmen that Congress borrowed from my unit. They are a den of whores, the filthiest of filth, and a chasm of debauchery in our Nation's Capitol. Don't believe for a second that the majority there ever want to reduce crime, especially against children.

My daughter is going to get a better history education from your post's than from all of her schooling.
