Not all things in common use by the military need to be common place for civilians. I am sure that the guy who is holding that kid in his prepper bunker probably didn't need access to things like AT weapons, grenades, claymores, et. al.

As for this fellow we are talking about. Apparently he is not in jail anymore but will have a hearing this month. My bet is he will get a fine at most. Unless he got busted for something else and they found the mags in a search.

Last I checked, Supreme Court rulings are the Law of the Land, equal footing with the Constitution.

SCOTUS set forth that "acid test" in U.S. v Miller in 1939. SCOTUS also said there are classes of folks who may legitimately barred from owning/possessing guns.

I'm not really sure how the hell you can equate a murderer and crack pot in AL with a former soldier who merely possessed 30 rd mags. Your "argument" is akin to libtards calling for semi-auto bans. Perhaps we should commission a "Minority Report" intervention program.

I'd like to see the obtuse magazine capacity ban lifted everywhere...and I fully support the ability for law abiding citizens to own those firearms available to light infantry and "in common use", for legal purposes of course. Not every soldier carries AT weapons, claymores, AAA, 500 lb bombs, etc.

Edit: Your comparison to the AL nut job really bothers me. This guy in AL was another crack pot who should have been arrested/adjudicated as not being able to own/possess firearms. There had been numerous complaints against him and IMHO local law enforcement blew it (just like Jared Loughner).
