The 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tip has more of a conventional ogive, so it will engage traditional lands earlier if the leade is shorter, whereas the compound throat of the Grendel allows it to be seated out further. That still doesn't explain why he had FTExtract after firing, because the projectile is gone at that point. FTEx indicates something else is going on, but he also had a hard time extracting unfired AA-loaded 120gr NBT, which points back to the lands engaging the ogive, or a really tight neck.
I ordered my 16" Barrel/bolt kit from Midway when they carried them. Even back in 2009, you had to be on the notify me list to stand a chance at getting a 16" or 18" AA barrel/bolt combo, and if you weren't on your email at the time, you were out of luck.
