I built my DPMS AR 15 lower for under $160.00, it wasnt that hard. You can build your upper with an 18" Alexander Arms lite barrell for under $500.00 or just buy one assembled from AA Or from a place where i got my2 Grendel uppers called J & t distributors. I think you're looking at approximately $750.00 from AA or about $650.00 from j & t with a stainless bull barrel but they dont flute barrels so if you're looking for something on the lighter side you better gowith Alexander Arms. On a side note AA is the Company that came up with the 6.5 Grendel but like i said ive got 2 J & Ts. The SS bull 24" is a tack driving machine out to 500+ yards. The new 20" ive only shot out to 300 yards (the first day i shot it) so im expecting great things from my new deer rifle in grendel. One thing you did mention was you wantedsomething light and i can tell you my 24" Grendel is as heavy as my DPMS .308 20" CLASSIC AR but it also has the Magpul PRS STOCK, bottomline its heavy. The 2nd one i just thru on my old telescoping milspec stock with a Nikon Prostaff 4-12-40 bdc and barrel at 20" its much lighter. Good luck.
