20 inch 6.8 and the Grendel loads are expanding at 400 yards, to kill a deer, it's the shooter, not the rifle, but it's nice to stack the deck.
At 300 yards, killing deer, Grendel and the 6.8, good medicine.
6.8 KLR, what a user name, they both are a jack of all trades!!!!!!!!! I've put many miles on a 650 KLR, now I just change the oil often on a 525 EXC, lol.
Some good factory 6.8 ammo is out there, the history of the 6.8 with it's different spec's does confuse many(and me!!), but just as 6.5G guys research what components to build a rifle, 6.8 guys have to do it too. Hats off to AA for really developing many GREAT factory loads and avoiding some confusion. I'm glad I have them both, I rig up the 6.8 more on the hunting lines(trigger, scope, light weight, etc.), and a more target rifle with the 264lbs, but the lines are very blurry, lol.
