Safety question for new builds

Look at the military checklists (google M-16 safety checks). They have a list of safety checks you need to run through on a regular basis and after any time that you disassemble and reassemble the rifle. It's a short list. Pull the trigger, then use the charging handle to reset and apply the safety. Then try to fire with safety on .... etc. etc. etc. That and a good go-no go gauge will do just fine.

It also helps to make up some dummy rounds to use to cycle to check for proper function.
