Ruger or Howa Bolt Gun?

I got out to the range for some barrel break-in this weekend. I followed Howa’s recommended procedure, but I’m not sure whether it truly will make a difference or not. It was very cold here so keeping the barrel cool was easy.

After the break-in I shot five 3 shot groups and the average was somewhere around .8 or .9” with factory Hornady Black 123gr BTHP. Overall I’m very happy with the rifle so far and I look forward to developing some handloads for it.

The plastic stock isn’t terrible, but Im probably gonna order a carbon fiber stock for it soon. I’m also on the waitlist for some JO bottom metal for it.
