Best buffer set up?

For me and suppressed use, I have used heavier springs with 2.9oz buffers, but on 12” Grendels.

I’m also using Bootleg Adjustable Gas carriers, which I think in combination with the heavier spring are the real ticket.

This is assuming the barrel maker cut the ports to the correct/ideal sizes.

Even though I’ve had suppressors for a long time, I have never suppressed an 18” MLGS anything, due to my opinion that 18” MLGS has a bit much in plug dwell length.

I have 3 18” MLGS Grendels, and I actually installed the Bootleg in my 17.6” Lilja just to regulate the cyclic rate unsuppressed.

If I was shooting 18” MLGS suppressed, I think I would want a flow-through can. I definitely would not have a can bore smaller than a .308 suppressor.

So of all the things you can do, I would get the Bootleg and an extra power action spring from Sprinco.

You will end up running the Bootleg on fully-suppressed most likely, shooting 120-130gr. Even with 90gr TNT Federal, I leave it on fully-suppressed position in the 12” guns. Runs like a raped ape.
