Barrel extension denting shoulder junction

Is there any way to eliminate the barrel extension gouging/denting the heck out of the case body ? I don’t notice it as bad dropping the bolt as when the rifle cycles. I have cleaned up the extension to where it’s not scratching my rounds going in or coming out but it’s definitely nailing the body shoulder junction. It’s a 16” Wilson combat barrel that shoots pretty good. I have a standard buffer and gas block installed. I don’t know if I used a heavier buffer or spring or cut the gas a litttle if it would help slow the carrier down Thanks.
