But public perception is that things are always getting worse, even though the data shows very demonstrably that violent crimes, murder, manslaughter, rape, and property crimes seem to be in decline. The proliferation of firearms and CCW laws seem to coincide with this reduction in more heinous crimes, while places that don’t allow CCW to common folk suffer greater incidents of violence.

What if the only "safe spaces for criminals" to commit these acts are away from all the relaxed gun law States and cities? Seems like I’ve heard that somewhere before.
