The rifle will be suppressed 99% of the time with the 1% being in storage. The 18 isnt too cumbersome but with my Nomad 30 on the end + Xeno adapter it gets a little too long for my tastes. Ive got bolt rifles that are long and I like the handiness of the ar platform. I had full intentions of building a 12-12.5 Grendel pistol but with the uncertainty of the brace situation I dont want to be hung out to dry on that. Im not a long range shooter by any means. 300-350 is a stretch for me and about as far as I am comfortable in making a shot. Most come in well under that mark. I went with the 18 to squeeze out as much potential as possible without fully understanding the capabilities of the Grendel especially in short packages. Now Im looking to shed weight and length without taking a major step back in performance.
