Drifter, I agree with your point about the first shot when hunting.. But given the large size of most kill zone on most game animals, even a thuty-thuty is accurate enough.. Even for head shots, the kill zone is still 2 to 3 inches..

But when some one is saying a given firearm is sub MOA, but then puts forth a 3 shots group, that doesn't impress me.. To each our own.. But then I tend to be more demanding than others.. flk k

Entire kill zone isn't always visible. A traditional lever-action 30-30 and a precision 6.5 do not necessarily serve the same role, despite being used for the same game.

Using a 30-30, I can't make the shots that I can make with a 6.5, but then I tend to be more demanding than others.

And if a hunting rifle will consistently shoot cold-bore sub-moa 3-shot groups to a consistent POI, it is no less effective for its intended application because some 10-shot-from-a-warm-barrel-requiring naysayer on the internet isn't impressed.

(Sorry to sound confrontational, but not everyone's application is the same. If you like fast sports cars, what would be the point of telling someone that you're unimpressed with their pickup truck?)
