I have a 20" SS side charger, and I had extraction issues with it at first, too. In poking around, I discovered the extractor wasn't right. The feed ramps were also rough as a cob, and it just cycled rough in general. Decided to tear it all down, pulled the barrel and polished the feed ramps, did a little Dremel carving on the extractor (I do have a new bolt, but still waiting on GO/NO GO gauges), and put it all back together carefully. Cycling is MUCH improved, and my next trip out, the only "failure" was me, I didn't get the mag fully seated once. Have still NOT done any proper load workups, but what I threw together as break in/extended function test loads all showed potential, I think the worst was around an inch. Have some test loads waiting on my next range session, hoping I get to them tomorrow. Will post my results if so, and assuming they're worth posting . Later.
