My Chinese paratrooper sks I had when I was just getting started was horrible. There was definitely an issue with the barrel. That was the absolute worst rifle to shoot accurately period. But still it grouped 6" at 100 yards. Horrible. Now I grew up shooting. In high school I use to ride on the bus with my .22 Target rifle and ammo. I would leave it in my Deans Office, After school I would pick it up and walk down to Monterey Police Department and proceed down into the basement where a retired Army Competition shooter would teach us in the basement shooting range. I learned the fundamentals. Most people have not. Time and time again I keep hearing how great a shot someone is only to see them utterly fail in my book. When I use to teach firearm training I found women to quickly out pace their male counterparts. Why? Because they didn't have a self inflated ego. For some reason most men believe they should already know how to shoot yet have had zero training. Maybe its all the War movies we watched growing up? I don't know. I don't care. Results are what matter.
Most AKs I have shot are capable of 2 MOA with good ammunition. Good ammunition and a good shooter are just part of the formula for a good shooting rifle. Hence why most AKs shoot 2 MOA. I keep hearing how great all the guys are with their ARs yet I see them shooting much more than 2 MOA. I even seen them shooting Wolf .223 and getting much worse than 2 MOA out of there ARs yet they will mock one of there bodies with an AK until he produces and much tighter group than they did. AKs are much more accurate than AR guys think and ARs are much more reliable Than AK guys think. Yes overall the AR is a better more accurate shooting platform. But the shooter and ammunition is what makes it perform. Go on youtube and type in xx rifle accuracy test. you will have Jim Bob or Billy Bob shooting there new rifle and scope but using Wold ammo or Ball ammo or anything but what they should be using for doing a review in the "accuracy" test. Anyway I guess I beat this dead horse enough. Go out there and have fun shooting no matter what you shoot.
