Shilen barrels from midway

I suggest you use the google custom search. I remember a few other members asking about these barrels over the last couple of years. I’ll post a link to the google custom search. I bought a Shilen 1:9 twist Match profile barrel from Midway in 2010 (IIRC). The profile is very similar to that used with a DCM Service Rifle but in 6.5 Grendel not 5.56/223. The barrel on mine has a plain muzzle with no threading. My barrel was well finished and my most accurate rifle. I have never shot any bullets heavier than 123 grains with this barrel and the 1:9 twist is fine. If you plan on shooting long heavy bullets a 1:8 twist is probably preferable. I read where the founder of Shilen had died and there doesn’t seem to be much innovation or new products coming out of Shilen. My barrel with bolt was around $450 when purchased and is a button rifled Stainless Steel barrel. If I were in the market today I’d probably buy a Lilja.
