Buffer Weight Question

I watched several youtube videos and read multiple threads on attaching the carrier key to the carrier. I opted not to use any sealant but torqued the screws to spec. So far no gas leakage or problems but I haven’t shot this rifle very much since using the adjustable carrier key. Family obligations has really hindered my shooting time. I was afraid sealant might go where I didn’t want it and if the carrier didn’t work I could redo it.
