Weird Scratches In New Barrel

Same guy has had a press, calipers and scale as well as a couple sets of dies that were mine. I gave him those when he wanted to start reloading. Yes I borrow it but he doesn't mind. I have used his bore scope 1 time in about 10 years. So I really do not have much need for one.

Fair enough but the OP question was basically, “what do you think caused these scratches”, not whether you should own or use a borescope! Right?
