The funny thing is that the only reason the UT legislature even brought that bill previously to the floor and passed it was because one of them was out shooting, LE made contact with them out in the foothills for some reason, and noticed that their jacket was partially concealing a handgun.

The LEO issued a citation for carrying without a permit, which incensed the politician, who then went back to the Legislature and took it to committee.

As they say over at Instapundit "People are conservative with what they know best." And libertarian with what they want most.
