Ruger ranch would be just over 7 lbs scoped with fx 6x36 in weaver lows and run the c-products 7.62x39 10 round mags, accurate and needs no custom work or parts
I know I have one set up exactly like this and its my main now, sold one Howa and my Cz. My last howa is getting investment, it already has slabbed action and fluted bolt, 22 barrel getting cut back to 18.5 as we spea and will order the Pendleton stock, hinged floor pate kit and timney trigger from Wayne at Oregun very soon. Wearing a leupold 36mm or less in Talley low rings it will be in the low 5 lb range all up. It may bark a bit as theres no doubt the Ruger ranch lets you know youre shooting a real gun when you pull the trigger so taking a couple lbs off that should be interesting.
The Howa may turn into a sweetheart but its going to cost triple the ranch in money and time to get it done right. Likely wont be any more accurate either. But Ill try it out but if it cant justify itself over the ranch to me then it will get sold like the amazing cz carbon barrel I also built thinking it would be what I wanted.
