No need for a 20 MOA mount as my 16 AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel runs out of elevation at about 850 yards at 450 ASL. Another advantage of a 20 MOA mount is your not dialing to the top edge of the scope travel if you frequently shoot long range. My Leupold scope has about 70 MOA of adjustment. Roughly 35 MOA up and 35 MOA down elevation when centered. A canted 20 MOA mount gives you approximately 55 MOA upward adjustment and 15 MOA down elevation.
Ive never had a problem zeroing a 6.5 Grendel AR-15 using a 20 MOA mount. I have a DIP 25 MOA with Vortex Tactical scope on my Cz 527 bolt action. This Vortex scope has 70 MOA of adjustment and I was able to zero it at 100 yards.
