Hey guys, I was looking for some advice on handguards. I have an AA Advanced Weapon System 24 upper. I just purchased an 18 barrel kit from a member here and will be swapping it over when it comes in, in order to go from a heavier, bench rest gun, to a lighter gun I can use to hunt on foot. Currently, I have a Midwest Industries two-piece quad-rail on it. Im looking to drop some of that weight in favor of an m-lock handguard. Im looking for a long-ish handguard, because I like the longer sight radius for BUIS, and I like to get my bipod on out there towards the end, so I guess Im looking for something at least 15 long. I do have an m-lock compatible bipod that I will be using. I am not looking to be able to attach more than the BUIS, bipod and, at times, possibly a small light. Obviously I am looking for a free-floating handguard. Do you guys have any recommendations? Im also wondering if a round handguard might be nice, vs. an octagonal one? What do you guys think? Any recommendations would be appreciated!
