I have 1-6X24 Vortex scopes.Razor,Viper and strike Eagle on different budget AR15s.The Razors Japanese class is noticbly better than the Viper and Strikes Eagles Chinese glass. But, Since the price of the razor is twice as much as the other two combined, it would be expected.
I use my 1-6x24 scopes for hog hunting out to 150 yrds,And ringing 200 yrd gun club steel.
If I had to do it all over again, I wouldnt spend $1300 on the Viper. I would get a strike Eagle or a Viper.The Viper is slightly clearer(not $300 clearer),the zoom dial is much easier to turn on the Viper and the eye relief is slightly better.But the strike eagle has a larger field of view and is noticeably lighter.A couple of minor things I dont like about the strike eagle is that the illuminated reticle doe not have an auto shut off and the zoom dial is hard to move without purchasing a lever.
So, it really depends on your budget and what you plan to do with the rifle.IMO,all three models will do the same job well.My strike eagle sits on an 8 300 blackout.My #1 go to hog rifle, because its so light.
