I'm going to second the SWFA recommendation. They may not be sexy with illumination and tactical features, but they are durable, affordable, and have useful reticles. I have used their 1-4x, 3-9x HD, 3-15x, and fixed 6x and was impressed with the quality of each, especially for the price. For what you intend to use the rifle for, I think the 2.5-10x Ultralight, 3-9x HD, or 3-15x SS would be great options.
