I shot a spotted hog a couple of years ago, white with round black spots. It was running uphill and away from me. The bullet appeared to hit the hog on the right side. I tracked him off the property. Two weeks later I shot the same hog at a feeder this time he was down and dead. When I went to dress him I found a massive infection and an oozing hole where the bullet had hit near the backstrap and run down the side of the ribcage exiting just inside the front leg. This hog was miserable and might have survived if I hadn't shot him again, I don't know for sure. He did not end up in the freezer!
