A while back Klem posted about using a ac power source for the charge master which Im sure will also work with your chargemaster lite. Mine works with a 12 V motorcycle battery that I purchased from Walmart for around $40 . Stays charged for weeks and its easy to recharge with a battery charger .
Just make sure you get the polarities right or you will fry your chargemaster.Check it with a continuity gauge ,the middle is positive.
Isolating your scale from vibrations and other things like fluorescent lights helps too.And I re zero mine every 10 charges or so.Ever since I did this I have gotten my average velocity reading of 5 groups a lot closer. +/- 10. Id like to get it +/- 5 but that may be a stretch. Anyway my groups are a little more consistent.
Well, I agree a 1/10 is perfectly fine, maybe even desirable, once youve located a node. Ive got a Creedmoor load now that litterally .5 of a grain either high or low makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Using Varget with a Sierra 130 GameChangers. Crazy stable.
And 1/10 resolution is one thing with a 80-100 grain 338 Lapua charge and another with a 8-10 grain 17 Hornet charge. Context and percentage of deviation matters.
Im just NOT seeing that much plateauing, if any, using the Chargemaster now and the Satterlee method and smaller charges. Hard to separate the pressure nodes from the usual noise of 1/10 resolution. At least for me it is. Of course this is with 17 Hornet, 223, Grendel size charge weights. Im hoping, being more precise with the FX120i will make those plateaus a little more obvious. And speed up my load development, which should help offset the cost of the scale!
