Atlanta traffic is one of the worst U.S Cities I have ever driven in. The side streets aren't much better especially around Emory University. Lanes were so narrow I could reach out my window and punch someone in the vehicle beside me.
Here are some of the U S Cities I've driven in:
Chicago-Detroit-Toledo-Cincinnati-Indianapolis-Louisville- Nashville-Memphis-Dallas-Austin-San Antonio-Kansas City-Charlotte-Los Angeles-San Diego-San Francisco-San Jose-Seattle-Portland-Phoenix-Tucson. and none of these cities top Atlanta traffic during rush hour. [that includes the 805 and 405 in L.A.]
