Here are some of the U S Cities I've driven in:
Chicago-Detroit-Toledo-Cincinnati-Indianapolis-Louisville- Nashville-Memphis-Dallas-Austin-San Antonio-Kansas City-Charlotte-Los Angeles-San Diego-San Francisco-San Jose-Seattle-Portland-Phoenix-Tucson. and none of these cities top Atlanta traffic during rush hour. [that includes the 805 and 405 in L.A.]

I have driven in Atlanta before and yes the traffic can be bad. First time I ever drove through there was in 1980 and I was driving a U-Haul truck full of stuff that I had picked up from a number of TG&Y stores from TN & NC going to a new store that was opening that was south of Atlanta. It was during rush hour and that truck had a governor on it that it would not go over 55 mph. I also was low on gas and had to get off the interstate and get some. I think it was peach tree street or someplace close that I stopped to get gas. I saw what I knew were hookers from there git up and a group of Harry Krishna dudes chanting and ringing little bells marching up the street. I prayed to the Lord to just let me get that truck filled with gas and get me out of there safe. He answered my prayer.

If you think Atlanta traffic is bad you should drive around the Washington DC beltway. It is either like driving in the Daytona 500 or sitting in a parking lot with no different speed between.

Nothing in my experience in the US can even come close to driving in Mexico down around Mexico City. Those people are NUTS.
